Fighting crime isn’t easy. It takes a lot of hard work, determination, and teamwork. Marlin and Percy are always running up against no-good villains! Sometimes it seems like there are so many of them they’re impossible to keep track of. That’s where students from 3 Poudre School District schools in Fort Collins, Colorado came in! We asked students from Preston Middle School, Laurel Elementary School of Arts and Technology and Bethke Elementary School to help us track down any no-good criminals through our “Create a Character Contest”. Students were invited to dream up their own villains with a brief description of what they look like, their special villain abilities, a name and an illustration of what the villain looks like so Marlin and Percy will recognize them when they track the criminals down.
The “Create a Character Contest”submissions are in and thanks to these imaginative Colorado students, it looks like Marlin and Percy have plenty of crime fighting adventures in store! The task was not easy, but the Marlin and Percy team poured over all of the submissions and selected one character finalist from each school.
And the school finalists are…
Bethke Elementary School
Emma, 5th Grade –
Character: “Porky the Penny Stealing Pig”
Laurel Elementary School of Arts and Technology
Preston Middle School
Character: “The Honey Badger”
Congratulations to Emma, Xander and Cameron! You are our school finalists! Stay tuned as we announce the Grand Prize Winner of the Marlin and Percy Create a Character Contest in an upcoming post. This extra clever and creative student will find his/her character apart of the hijinks and hilarity of a future Marlin and Percy comic adventure!
*A very special thank you to the students and staff of Preston Middle School, Laurel Elementary School of Arts and Technology and Bethke Elementary School for your participation!
